课程简介
This unit introduces the basic concept of pathology, which includes inflammation, neoplasia and tissue processing. You will further explore the pathological changes occurring in each organ system. Each disease learned will be related with the expected results in relevant lab investigations.

- ULO1 Demonstrate an understanding of the basic pathological processes in disease development;
- ULO2 Explain the biochemical, physiological, immunological processes involved in normal body functions and disturbances in different diseased states;
- ULO3 Process tissues, slides, and specimens including sputum and other body fluids;
- ULO4 Interpret and critically analyse laboratory results in order to distinguish between normal and pathological specimens.

Case-based teaching - Discussion of the case studies during the tutorial sessions.
Online learning - Pre-recorded weekly lectures.
预期工作量
• Three 1-hour pre-recorded lectures per week;
• One 3-hour practical class for 5 weeks;
• One 1-hour tutorial for 11 weeks and
• Six to seven hours of independent study per week
