课程简介
This capstone unit provides a structured and equitable opportunity for you to apply psychological knowledge within real-world organisational, community, or workplace contexts through either a hosted placement pathway or a project-based pathway, with both options designed to offer rich, authentic, and professionally meaningful learning experiences.
Across the semester, you will engage with an applied context, such as an organisation, service, initiative, or defined population group, to analyse real-world challenges and develop psychologically informed responses. Students undertaking a hosted placement will work directly with a partner organisation, while students in the project-based pathway will complete a scaffolded and carefully structured project grounded in an equivalent real-world context, ensuring consistency of scope, expectations, and learning outcomes across both pathways.
The unit emphasises foundational professional competencies, including self-awareness, ethical practice, collaboration, and evidence-informed reasoning. By integrating psychological knowledge with applied problem-solving and professional development, the unit provides an engaging and meaningful learning experience that strengthens your readiness to contribute effectively within diverse workplace and community settings.

Clayton Campus offering:
Lectures: 6 hours of self-directed engagement with online lectures and associated interactive workbooks across the semester.
Workshops: 5x 2-hour workshops throughout the semester.
Tutorials: 7x 1-hour tutorials throughout the semester.
Placement: A total of 96-hours dedicated to hosted placement attendance or engagement in a project-based pathway. Students will have the opportunity to apply for either the hosted placement or project-based pathway.
Self-directed study: A total of 25-hours across the semester, including assessment preparation.
Total workload per week = 12 hours (made up of 8-hours of placement, 1 or 2 hours of workshop or tutorial attendance, and the remaining time for self-directed study).
Malaysia Campus offering:
Lectures: 6 hours of self-directed engagement with online lectures and associated interactive workbooks across the semester.
