课程简介

You will develop a deep understanding of the approaches, practice framework, and processes for ethically working with individuals across the lifespan. The knowledge and skills gained will be embedded within researcher-practitioner and evidence-based practice models of mental health and wellbeing.

Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to cultivate knowledge and skills for effectively working with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds. Emphasis will be placed on promoting well-being, identifying mental health challenges, and raising awareness of preventive strategies. Moreover, you will apply your knowledge and skills in a manner that emphasises cultural relevance and social justice.

  1. ULO1 Critically evaluate different psychological theories and cultural practices related to mental health and wellbeing across the lifespan.
  2. ULO2 Apply evidence-based and scientist-practitioner approaches related to mental health and well-being across the lifespan.
  3. ULO3 Identify risk and protective factors based on the biopsychosocial model for mental health and well-being across the lifespan.
  4. ULO4 Recognise the significance of ethical guidelines and cultural responsiveness in research on mental health issues across the lifespan.
  5. ULO5 Analyse how mental health literacy evolves throughout the lifespan to develop targeted campaigns that address gaps in mental health awareness.

预期工作量

Two hours of lectures per week. Two hours of tutorials per week. Preparation: Eight hours background reading/preparation for lectures, tutorials and assessment tasks per week. Attendance at tutorials is recommended in order to successfully complete in-class activities and related assessment tasks.
