Enrolment and credit

Course planning tools

• The Handbook You can see your course requirements in the Handbook from the year you started your course. Once you’ve checked your course requirements, use the current year’s Handbook to find units to enrol in. • Course maps If you need help choosing units, check the course map for your degree. Course maps give you a visual outline of your degree’s structure, including units and electives. • Course progression check To check how you’re progressing through your degree, submit a Course Advice Request. • Monash Enrich Got a free elective space? Diversify your learning with units and programs from across the University.

Important dates

• Semester dates Find the key dates for semesters one and two (including swot vac, mid-semester break, final assessment period, etc.). • Census dates and teaching periods Check the census date for your teaching period before you withdraw from a unit or make changes to your enrolment. • Allocate+ dates Take a look at the Allocate+ dates to find out when you can enter preferences and make changes to your timetable.

Assessments

• eExams Find out everything you need to know about eExams: learn how they work, what the rules are, and how you can prepare. • Supplementary assessments If you fail a unit, you may be eligible for a supplementary assessment. Go to our supplementary assessment page to learn how they work and if you’re eligible. • Can’t complete your assessment? Learn about your options if you couldn’t – or can’t – complete an assessment when required.

Student placement and opportunities

Taking a break or leaving your course

• Taking a study break There are many reasons why you might need to take a break – make sure you explore your options and the support available before you make a decision. • Discontinuing your course If you’re unsure about continuing your course, we’re here to help you understand your options so you can make the decision that’s right for you. • Graduating with an alternative exit If you choose to leave your course early, you may be eligible for an alternative exit. Check your course details in the Handbook to find out if you're eligible.

If you apply to take a break or discontinue your course, we’ll automatically get in contact with you to discuss your options.

If you’re seeking an alternative exit, you should get some course advice first. All you have to do is submit a Course Advice Request form and we’ll get back to you.

Ask our virtual assistant Our virtual assistant has answers to most common questions, including finding unit information, choosing a major or minor, getting credit for prior study, and much more. If it can’t find an answer, it can connect you to a real person or help you make an online enquiry.
